There appears to be a new world record for the longest beard chain. Yes, that’s a thing.
Participants gathered at a bar in Casper, Wyoming, where they stood side by side and clipped their beards together to create a hairy chain that measured 150 feet, the Casper Star-Tribune reported.
For perspective, the height of the Statue of Liberty is 151 feet from base to torch.
The measurement, taken Friday, beat the Guinness World Record of 62 feet, 6 inches, set in Germany in 2007.
Dozens of participants, who stood together for 31 seconds, were required to sport a beard at least 8 inches long, the outlet reported.

The event took place just one day before the National Beard and Moustache Championships on Saturday at the city’s Ford Wyoming Center.
The beard chain record isn’t official yet – Guinness World Records spokesperson Kylie Galloway told USA TODAY that the world record catalog has not received an application for the title and attempt but that the participants were welcome to apply through its website.
The standard application process, she said, can take 12 to 15 weeks from the time of submission to be reviewed.
