A mother stabbed her five children inside a Texas home, killing three, authorities said.

Shamaiya Deyonshana Hall, 25, is accused of killing her 6-year-old son and her 5-year-old twins, a boy and a girl.

Authorities discovered the slain children just after 4 p.m. Friday when they were called to a home in Italy, Texas by Child Protective Services, who had ordered the children to be removed, the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement Saturday.

Investigators also found Hall’s 4-year old son and a 13-month-old daughter with injuries from a knife attack. The two surviving children were taken to a hospital for treatment, investigators said.

Hall faces three counts of capital murder and is being held on $2 million bond for each charge, officials said.

She is expected to face additional charges, Ellis County Sheriff Deputy Jerry Cozby told USA TODAY.

Hall’s five children had been in the temporary custody of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, but the agency cited the ongoing investigation and declined to provide any other details in a statement to USA TODAY.

Italy is a small community about an hour south of Dallas with less than 2,000 residents, according to Census data.
