An Indiana police officer was fatally shot by a domestic violence suspect inside of a southern Indiana hospital before officers killed the 34-year-old man early Monday, police said.
Authorities said Sgt. Heather Glenn was responding to a complaint involving a man who police identified as Sean Hubert at Perry County Memorial Hospital in . Police were called to the hospital when a domestic violence victim told staff that Hubert was on the way, police said.
The officer was trying to subdue Hubert with an electric-controlled weapon and arrest him before Hubert “produced a firearm and Sgt. Glenn was shot,” Indiana State Police said.
Police Sgt. John Davis said police did not know the man was armed.

Glenn was a nearly 20-year veteran of the Tell City Police Department and the Perry County Sheriff’s Office.
“Our police department suffered a tremendous loss. We lost a dear colleague, a dear friend. Sgt. Glenn — she’s a cornerstone of our department,” said Tell City Police Chief Derrick Lawalin.

Who was Sean Hubert?
Indiana state police said they talked to the alleged victim of domestic violence previously and had been searching for Hubert on Sunday.
