CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KWWL) — Cedar Rapids Police have arrested a man with Second-Degree Murder, among other charges, for the Taboo Nightclub mass shooting.
Police say that 32-year-old Timothy Ladell Rush is currently in custody at the Linn County Jail.
Earlier on Monday, police identified the two people killed as 25-year-old Michael Valentine, and 35-year-old Nicole Owens, both of Cedar Rapids. Ten other people were injured in the shooting, with at least one in critical condition.
Along with Second-Degree Murder, Rush is charged with Willful Injury Willful Injury – Causing Serious Injury, Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon, and Reckless Use of a Firearm – Causing Serious Injury.
Police have said that they believe there may have been multiple shooters. They have called the shooting a targeted incident and said that Valentine was the intended target.
