A shortage of pickles is affecting Subway stores across the country, and customers could be waiting several weeks before they see pickles on their subs once again.

A representative for Subway confirmed the restaurant chain was facing “a bit of a pickle at the moment”.

“Like many companies, there are a number of challenges in supply chain logistics all over the world, which have resulted in some items being in short supply,” said Subway representative Ben Miles.

“We expect to be out of stock for a few weeks but as always, if pickles are unavailable at your local restaurant, you can load up your sub with a variety of our other freshly prepared ingredients.”
