A man in Texas was killed by a bull that belonged to his family, authorities said.
The Ellis County Sheriff’s Office said it received reports Monday afternoon about a man reporting a bull had possibly killed his 60-year-old son in the city of Ferris, about 20 miles southeast of downtown Dallas.
Deputies and emergency services arrived on the scene, but were met with hostility from the bull.
“Upon deputies’ arrival, the bull was destroying property and preventing first responders from rendering aid,” the sheriff’s office said.
The bull was euthanized, but the man attacked by the bull was pronounced at at the scene.
Authorities said the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division is investigating the incident. The sheriff’s office said Tuesday the bull belonged the victim’s family, and are awaiting the release of the victim’s name.
