Polling numbers have Republicans downright giddy these days. Take Senator Ted Cruz for instance.
Cruz, in an appearance with Newsmax host Eric Bolling, delivered a brutal takedown of “Beto” O’Rourke and Stacey Abrams, the Democrat gubernatorial candidates in Texas and Georgia respectively.
The Texas senator was discussing midterm election prospects, predicting there will be a “red tsunami” and that Republicans will “retake both the House and the Senate.”
When asked about the aforementioned governor’s races, Cruz didn’t hold back.
“I think they’re both going to lose badly. Beto, this will be the third time,” he quipped.
“When he launched his campaign for governor, reporters in the Capitol asked me what I thought about it,” Cruz continued. “I said, ‘Well, I guess Beto wants to get his ass kicked a third time,’ and so that’s what he’s getting ready to do.”

Beto Might be a Loser, But He’s a Consistent Loser
Ted Cruz’s comment about Beto getting his “ass kicked” for the third time is referencing his past failures as a candidate for higher office.

Despite the media consistently propping O’Rourke up as the “breakout star out of Texas,” he has yet to break out and actually win an election.
He lost a bid to unseat Cruz from his Senate seat in 2018 by over 210,000 votes, despite outraising the Republican candidate nearly 2:1, $80+ million to $45+ million.
O’Rourke would later, as the AP describes it, come “crashing back to Earth in a short-lived presidential run” in 2020.
He then launched a political action committee (PAC) to boost Democrats in Texas ahead of the 2020 election, a venture that the Texas Tribune reports was “another disappointment” for the party.

O’Rourke is a consistent punching bag for critics, though the Democrat brings a lot of it on himself.
Whether live-streaming his dental appointment, dressing up in a sheep mask and onesie for a punk band performance, or crashing a press conference updating the public on an elementary school shooting, Beto has been a perpetual source of embarrassment for the left.
A street artist in 2019 mocked O’Rourke with a massive billboard depicting him holding a bottle of tequila, sporting a sombrero, and standing in front of a car crashing through a building in the background.
He was arrested for a DWI back in the ’90s.
Had to stop and take a pic of this @911onFOX billboard creatively defaced today just a few blocks west of The Fox lot in LA. @realDailyWire reports this anti-Beto agitprop is the handiwork of street artist Sabo https://t.co/fLodtNli90 pic.twitter.com/MFyC91yMAu

Beto O’Rourke also “belonged to the oldest group of computer hackers in U.S. history” known as the “Cult of the Dead Cow.”
Aside from being a failed politician, he was also a failed poet. That said, Maya Angelou has nothing on this …

And then there are social media posts blatantly appealing to the feeble-minded that, as Ted Cruz asserts, show Beto deserves to get his ass kicked. Metaphorically, of course. Not physically.

Takes Aim at Stacey Abrams
Senator Cruz then pivoted and took a jab at Election Denier™ Stacey Abrams.
“Same thing with Stacey Abrams,” he joked. “Although the good news is Stacey still believes she won the last time, so she thinks she’s governor now, so maybe she’ll, in her own mind, get re-elected to her second term as governor.”
Abrams publicly refused to acknowledge the 2018 election results in which she lost to Georgia Governor Brian Kemp time and time again.
Beto joined her in spreading misinformation about the election by stating it had been, in-part, ‘rigged.’

Fortunately, after they both get their ass kicked on Tuesday, they can sit at home together and lament how the elections were rigged against them.
O’Rourke trails by nearly 10 points in the latest RealClaerPolitics average while Abrams is behind by nearly 8.
It’s unclear why Abrams is running for a position she never lost in the first place.
