NASCAR starting positions for Kansas Speedway
Today, the NASCAR Cup Series field is unloaded in Kansas City, Kansas. They’ll set to roll to the 1.5-mile of Kansas Speedway for a round of qualifying.

Directly ahead of qualifying, the field was split into two groups from a brief round of practice. Kurt Busch topped the practice times sheet overall with a 30.758.
Chris Buescher suffered a flat left rear, spun in the opening seconds of the group A practice and slammed the wall. Later in the same session, Ryan Blaney also lost a left rear tire but he avoided any damage.
In the second practice session, Ricky Stenhouse Jr spuns and slammed the wall. Later in the session, Joey Logano also blew a left rear and slammed the wall.
The field was split into two groups for NASCAR qualifying. The top 5 from each group advance into round two and made a run for pole.
