1/6 Committee Vice Chair Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) said that the committee is in conversations to have former vice president Mike Pence testify in September.

ABC News reported on their interview with Cheney:

“We’ve been in discussions with his counsel,” Cheney said, speaking with Karl in the Jan. 6 committee hearing room where millions of Americans have watched her during this summer’s series of hearings.

….

“So, you think we’ll see him here in September in this room before the committee?” Karl asked.

“I would hope that he will understand how important it is for the American people to know every aspect of the truth about what happened that day,” Cheney said.

The fact that the conversation about testifying before the committee is ongoing with Pence’s lawyers is encouraging, but there has been nothing stopping Pence from showing up and testifying at any point since the 1/6 investigation.

If Pence would ever realize that he has no chance of winning the Republican nomination, maybe his mind would change, and he would step up and do the right thing for the country.

Donald Trump tried to have a mob that he incited kill his vice president. Pence should already have plenty of motivation to tell his side of the story, and if he doesn’t, it will say more about Pence’s lack of courage and make his actions on 1/6 look like the exception instead of the norm.
