US investigators have shared footage from inside the cabin of an Alaska Airlines plane which lost a panel mid-flight on Friday.
The Boeing 737 Max 9 had just taken off from Portland International Airport when one of its door plugs tore off, leaving a hole “the size of a refrigerator” in its fuselage and causing a rapid decrease in cabin pressure. The aircraft was able to make a safe emergency landing and no passengers were injured.
In inspections of their fleets of the aircraft, Alaska Airlines found “some loose hardware”, while United Airlines found some bolts in need of “additional tightening”.
