A woman has died after a crash involving an Anderson County Sheriff’s Office deputy. That is according to the Anderson County Coroner’s office. According to JT Foster from the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office, Sunday at approximately 3:20 p.m., a deputy was responding to an armed robbery. During the response, the deputy was involved in a car crash, Foster said.Troopers said the woman, driving a sedan, was entering SC 28 from a private drive. Troopers said the deputy, 30-year-old Jonathan Michael Westbrook of Anderson, was traveling east on SC 28 and struck the sedan.Both the deputy and driver of the other vehicle were transported to the hospital, Foster said.The coroner said the woman later died at the hospital. The coroner identified her as Sarah Parson, 80. The South Carolina Highway Patrol was called to the scene to investigate the collision.Stay tuned to WYFF4 for updates.
