A  dog shelter’s call for help on social media after a power outage led dozens of people from the community to show up with ice in hand.

The Franklin County Dog Shelter and Adoption Center in Columbus, Ohio lost power on Tuesday and created a Facebook post asking for the community to bring ice.

“We need your help. The power is out here at the shelter, and our pups needs ice to keep cool in this blazing heat!,” the post said.

Soon after, dozens of people from the community brought them hundreds of bags of ice.

“We now have a peace of mind that our shelter pups will be cool tonight, with the supervision of our overnight staff. Thank you all!” the shelter said in an updated post.

As of Wednesday morning, the shelter said power was restored.
