FBI Now Warning About ‘Dirty Bomb’ Threats, Calls for ‘Civil War’ Following Mar-a-Lago Raid

A bulletin issued by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is warning law enforcement agencies over an increased number of threats calling for “civil war” and one, in particular, indicating a “dirty bomb” would be placed in front of FBI headquarters, following their raid of former President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home.

NBC News reported on the bulletin over the weekend, citing two senior law enforcement sources.

“The FBI and DHS have observed an increase in threats to federal law enforcement and to a lesser extent other law enforcement and government officials following the FBI’s recent execution of a search warrant in Palm Beach, Florida,” the letter reportedly reads.

CBS News followed up by reporting the memo addresses online and social media threats issuing general calls for “civil war” and “armed rebellion” as well as “a threat to place a so-called dirty bomb in front of FBI Headquarters.”

The National Regulatory Commission defines “dirty bombs” as combining “a conventional explosive, such as dynamite, with radioactive material.”

FBI Mar-a-Lago Raid Leading to Increased Threats

To avoid any ambiguity as to who might be the source of the alleged threats following the FBI raid of Mar-a-Lago, the bulletin points fingers by noting the menacing messages contain references to claims that the 2020 election was stolen.

The FBI memo reportedly says some of the threats involve the “targeted killing of judicial, law enforcement, and government officials associated with the Palm Beach search.”

It also claims extremists may view the 2022 midterm elections as “an additional flashpoint around which to escalate threats against perceived ideological opponents, including federal law enforcement personnel.”

The memo reportedly laments that personal information such as addresses and the identification of family members of agents had been shared online.

This comes just weeks after Supreme Court Justices were subjected to similar online threats including maps to their family homes and culminating in an assassination attempt against Brett Kavanaugh.

Deplorable and Dangerous

Late last week, FBI Director Christopher Wray avoided commenting on the FBI’s Mar-a-Lago raid and instead focused on alleged threats made against him and the Bureau by Trump supporters, calling them “deplorable and dangerous.”

“I’m always concerned about threats to law enforcement,” Wray said. “Violence against law enforcement is not the answer, no matter who you’re upset with.”

Shortly after Wray’s comments, an individual named Ricky Shiffer Jr. attempted to forcibly enter the FBI Cincinnati field office and was later shot and killed following a six-hour standoff.

President Trump, meanwhile, has called the FBI raid on his Mar-a-Lago home a “break in” and “a sneak attack on democracy.”

Responding to news of the letter to law enforcement warning of an uptick in threats, the FBI said: “As always, we would like to remind members of the public that if they observe anything suspicious to report it to law enforcement immediately.”

Incredibly, the FBI still has no idea who planted two pipe bombs at the DNC and RNC the day before the January 6 riot at the Capitol.
