Rep. Scott Perry (R-PA) said that the FBI seized his cell phone after agents had conducted a search at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club.

Perry said in a statement, “This morning, while traveling with my family, 3 FBI agents visited me and seized my cell phone. They made no attempt to contact my lawyer, who would have made arrangements for them to have my phone if that was their wish. I’m outraged — though not surprised — that the FBI under the direction of Merrick Garland’s DOJ, would seize the phone of a sitting Member of Congress.”

Sitting members of Congress who are potentially engaged in criminal activity are not immune from having their cell phone seized. Rep. Perry seems to mistakenly believe that being a member of Congress gives him a literal get-out-of-jail-free card.

Perry is involved in Trump’s coup plot up to his eyeballs. Rep. Perry was the person who tried to purge the Justice Department and install Jeffrey Clark as attorney general so that the DOJ could be used to pressure the states to overturn the election.

The seizure of Scott Perry’s cell phone suggests that the DOJ continues to work its way up the food chain toward the top of the Trump plot to overturn the election.

We don’t know if the FBI visit to Perry the day after the Mar-a-Lago raid was a coincidence, but it sure looks like the Justice Department is turning up the heat on the people involved in Trump’s conspiracy to remain in power.
