It is perhaps one of the things that supporters of former President Donald Trump love about him the most. No matter who it is, when he feels he has been wronged, Donald Trump fights back. And in a way, he has taught conservatives that it is OK to fight back.

It’s a very different style from the usual Republican, who apologizes for their beliefs and sucks up to the media in the false belief that they will be treated fairly.

Trump’s latest back and forth is with SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk. Here are two guys who did not get to where they are in life by being passive, now turning their sights on each other.

The ongoing feud has escalated, with Trump going full scorched-earth against the futurist inventor.

Scorched Earth

The latest salvo fired at Musk by Trump is a post on Trump’s social media platform Truth Social. In it, Trump basically states that without a lot of government subsidies, Musk and many of his endeavors would be “worthless.”

Trump also claims that Musk was, “telling me he was a big Trump fan and a Republican, I could have said, “drop to your knees and beg and he would have done it…”

Trump followed that up with a couple of posts referring to the court battle Musk is locked in with the possible purchase of Twitter. At one point he appeared to taunt Musk for the Twitter debacle.

Trump then followed with a final taunt, roping former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey into the mix.

How It All Started

It was Donald Trump who let it be known what he thought of Elon Musk’s apparent doublespeak, during a rally in Alaska last weekend for congressional candidate Sarah Palin, Gov. Mike Dunleavy, and GOP Senate primary candidate Kelly Tshibaka.

Trump referred to a recent statement of Musk’s, who said he had voted for newly-elected Rep. Mayra Flores (R-TX) in a special election, and it was the first time he had ever voted Republican.

Trump’s response was what brings his supporters to his rallies. He stated, “He said the other day, ‘Oh, I’ve never voted for a Republican. I said, ‘I didn’t know that,’ He told me he voted for me, so he’s another bullshit artist.”

Musk responded by saying of Trump, “I don’t hate the man, but it’s time for Trump to hang up his hat & sail into the sunset.”

The reply prompted some questions of Musk from radio talk show host Joe “Joe Pags” Pagliarulo, who asked, “Your response makes no sense. What about his presidency did you have a problem with?” Pagliarulo then listed some of Trump’s key accomplishments.

In his response to Pagliarulo, Musk commented that Trump carried “too much drama.” Musk also implied that he felt Trump would be too old to run in 2024.

As you can imagine, it has all the makings of an ongoing feud between two giants.

Possible Musk Support In 2024

If Donald Trump runs and becomes the Republican nominee in 2024, whether or not he and Elon Musk will make up and become BFF’s again is anybody’s guess. Musk stated in a tweet who he might be inclined to support instead of Trump.

In a tweet in June put out by the Tesla Owners Silicon Valley Twitter page, Musk was asked, “what are you leaning towards,” referring to the 2024 election. Musk’s answer was a simple, “DeSantis,” referring to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

DeSantis was all too eager to not only thank Musk for his “endorsement,” but to have a little bit of fun tweaking the left as well. He responded, “I’m focused on 2022. But always appreciate the support from African Americans!” Musk was born in South Africa and is a naturalized U.S. citizen.

How long the back and forth between Trump and Musk will go on is unclear. But it will no doubt keep social media busy for a while.

Now is the time to support and share the sources you trust.
