Police in Chippewa Falls are searching for the person who killed a 10-year-old girl.Lily Peters was reported missing about 9 p.m. Sunday.Her father reported her missing after she didn’t return home from her aunt’s house.Police said they found a bike believed to belong to Lily abandoned in the woods.It was found a short distance from her aunt’s home near a walking trail along a creek and the Leinenkugel’s brewery parking lot.Teams searched the wooded area and went door-to-door looking for Lily.Her body was found Monday morning.Police said her death has been ruled a homicide.They have not yet made any arrests.Police Chief Matthew Kelm said there may be a danger to the public and asked residents to remain vigilant.Investigators did not release any additional details.The Wisconsin Division of Criminal Investigation determined the incident did not meet the criteria for an Amber Alert.Multiple agencies are assisting with the case.Anyone with information on the case was asked to call the Chippewa County Dispatch Center at 715-726-7701.
