As anger among his supporters grows over last week’s raid of Mar-a-Lago, former President Donald Trump is warning about the country becoming a powder keg.

During his first interview since the raid on his home, Trump told Fox News Digital that he and his representatives have contacted the DOJ to figure out how to cool things down.

Trump stated, “If there is anything we can do to help, I, and my people, would certainly be willing to do that.”

Unprecedented ‘Perilous Times’

During the interview, Trump sounded like a man very afraid for the state of his country. He lamented, “There has never been a time like this where law enforcement has been used to break into the house of a former president of the United States, and there is tremendous anger in the country — at a level that has never been seen before, other than during very perilous times.”

Trump has not yet heard back from the Department of Justice regarding his offer of help to calm the nation. He said, “I think they would want the same thing — I’ve never seen anything like this. It is a very dangerous time for our country.”

He contemplated the years of various plots and attempts to try to ensnare him or his associates in illegal activity: “Years of fake witch hunts and phony Russia, Russia, Russia schemes and scams.”

He also noted that some people are, in fact, above the law: “… nothing happens to those people who perpetuate that — nothing happens with them.”

Increased Threats To Law Enforcement

Donald Trump offered up a warning, “People are so angry at what is taking place. Whatever we can do to help — because the temperature has to be brought down in the country. If it isn’t, terrible things are going to happen. The people of this country are not going to stand for another scam.”

According to CBS News, there has been an uptick in threats against FBI and other law enforcement officials in the days following the raid.

There have been some broad calls for “civil war” and “armed rebellion.” Of the more incredulous claims, the DHS said there was a threat to light off a “dirty bomb” in front of FBI headquarters.

For those unaware, a dirty bomb uses nuclear materials. The reader is left to decide how plausible it is that Trump supporters have threatened to nuke the FBI.

Plenty Of Unanswered Questions

Supporters of Donald Trump believe there are a lot of questions yet to be answered about the raid on Mar-a-Lago. While the government was fairly quick to release the FBI search warrant revealing what was being searched for and what was taken, they are refusing to release the affidavit, or the “why” for the search.

And while U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland said last week that he had “personally approved” the raid, a Wall Street Journal report from Monday stated that Garland “deliberated for weeks” on whether to approve it. If national security is the assumed pretext for the raid, what deliberation is there?

Donald Trump’s desire to want to help his country, and head off what he and many other Americans see coming, will undoubtedly be met with a “you caused it” mentality by the left and the media. It begs the question, what do they really want?
